Happy Holidays!

Everyone encouraged to resolve to make the world a better place

This is the most joyous of seasons because it is devoted to thanks giving, gift giving and solemn remembrances of the birth of Christ. It is a time to reflect on one’s blessings and a time to look ahead to the promise of the New Year.

For Alpha Kappa Alpha, 2008 is particularly poignant because it marks the year of our Centennial. On the eve of this milestone, we are humbled and inspired by our legacy of making a difference. It is a heritage birthed by our nine founders whose commitment to providing “service to all mankind” has endured. We are uplifted by their courage, vision and the example they continue to set for the 200,000 members worldwide who have followed their lead.

Inspired by the memory of these dynamic women, I encourage our members to rededicate themselves to Alpha Kappa Alpha’s core service mission with Energy, Strength and Passion.

And, inspired by the spirit of giving that marks this season, I encourage everyone to start this New Year with a resolve to make the world a better place through a renewed commitment to service.
